About
Sjoerd Roelof Lammers is a Dutch photographer whose work observes people and the world they shape around them.
His photographs are drawn to unplanned relationships between people, objects and their surroundings; to small gestures and coincidences; and to the traces left behind as places are used, altered, repaired or abandoned.
Working in black and white and colour, Lammers approaches the everyday as something neither ordinary nor fixed. His photographs do not seek spectacle. They look closely at what is already there — and at what happens when human intention meets chance, time and change.
